In the garden behind our house, my husband built a studio, which I now use to practice yoga and meditation. Once a month my fellow students from the yoga school would come, and we would meditate together. It was lovely. During these times, we would experience deep peace, love, silence, and “just being.” We would radiate light to the world.
Last Monday the students did not come, due to the coronavirus crisis we’re having right now. We did meditate together as always, but everybody stayed at home—which, we found, is just as powerful as sitting together in the same room. And, as always, we experienced deep peace and light radiating to the world. We had a sense of “all is well.”
But these last few days, as I inform myself on what is going on in the world, more and more energy is building up inside of me. It’s manifesting as a strong urge to speak out loud and take action. It is not enough to meditate and radiate peace, love, and light to the world. I have the feeling now that I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING!
First, I feel the need to speak and write about this moment in human history, a moment in which we have the chance to make changes for the better, to stop consuming the earth and continue to build a world that is sustainable, based on the principles of nature—balance, harmony, recycling, equal sharing of wealth, and no more endlessly growing economies.
Second, I feel it is necessary to take action against unrestrained technology. I am convinced that we will kill all life on earth, including ourselves. It is not enough to meditate and be in peace—this is a moment to speak out and stand up against matters that you think are wrong.
So from my deep peace and light experienced during meditation, this warrior emerges and raises her voice. She calls to me and says it’s time for action, for speaking out, and to be heard. When I emerge from the deep peace, one word is heard: ENOUGH!
